Pawan Khaitan
Chairman
Mr. Khaitan chairs the SPD group’s Board of Directors and mentors various business leaders. Residing in Singapore for the last 30+ years with offices in India, Singapore, Dubai, Vietnam and Africa, he is a knowledge repository in international trade and finance. A visionary with solid experience and strong business acumen, Mr. Khaitan is the driving force behind all strategic decisions of SPD who mentors an empowered leadership team to confront new challenges with smart and effective solutions.
Saurav Khaitan
Managing Director
Saurav has been the key architect of the group’s focus to be a more brand driven organization with an aim to have growth of each stakeholder who is associated in any respect. He heads the key department of Accounting & Finance and chairs the marketing initiatives of the group. Under his leadership SPD has rapidly expanded its market presence across various locations. He has previously worked for Langham Capital, a boutique investment bank, where he was involved in managing several M&A and fundraising transactions. Prior to joining Langham Capital, he worked for Deloitte, where he was involved in the corporate finance division providing advisory services for corporate development and capital raising initiatives.
Saurav has completed a Bachelor’s degree from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in Finance from the London School of Economics. Saurav is the Founder Director of the Company and is heading the Finance, Legal, HR & Administration departments of the Company.
Chirag Khaitan
Executive Director
Chirag has played an instrumental role in shaping and transforming the group’s strategy. He heads the Operations department and chairs the business developmental initiatives of SPD.
Under his leadership as a Founding Director since 2010, SPD has developed a strong, engaged and ambitious team that is actively involved in the expansion of the group. He oversees day to day management of the organization, including business development and strategic planning, encompassing all projects.
Chirag has done his graduation from London School of Economics after which he gained valuable work experience with HSBC to develop his team working and leadership qualities.
Ambuj Chaturvedi
Director
Ambuj’s primary focus is to ensure that both progress and quality parameters are met thereby ensuring client satisfaction. He brings with him solid experience of nearly three decades of working in different renowned construction and engineering companies in India and abroad. His previous roles in construction firms such as BL Kashyap and Sons Ltd, Nagarjuna Construction and Maytas Infra Ltd have equipped him with the necessary skills and technical expertise to oversee the overall operations of the projects.
Ambuj is a Civil Engineering graduate from IIEST, Shibpur (Formerly Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur).
Sanyam Khaitan
Director
Sanyam is heading the procurement activities of the group. He undertakes the responsibility of developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies. Sanyam is involved in tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses, ensure timely delivery and improve effectiveness, crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms while ensuring that quality is not compromised under any circumstances.
Sanyam has done his graduation from Singapore Institute of Management. He has previously worked for HSBC prior to joining SPD in 2015. He has gained valuable hands-on experience in the past few years which has helped him to develop systems that ensure competitive prices, proven quality, fastest turnaround time and minimal inventory costs eventually resulting in lower costs and better quality for our clients.
Sanjay Jalan
Director
Sanjay has been with SPD Group since 2010 and is primarily responsible for ensuring that all clients and contractors are satisfied with the output and performance of the Company.
A graduate in commerce since 1997 and having rich commercial experience of more than 12 years from running and expanding his own family electrical business, Sanjay brings unique skill set and capability to ensure that the construction sites of the Company are running at optimal efficiency.
Arup Patnaik
Independent Director
Arup Patnaik, born on September 8, 1955, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer known for his tenure as the 36th Police Commissioner of Mumbai. He completed his schooling at Mayo College, Ajmer, and earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Delhi University. Before joining the IPS in 1979, Patnaik worked as a Probationary Officer at the State Bank of India from 1976 to 1979.
Throughout his 36-year career with the Maharashtra Police, Patnaik held various significant positions, including Superintendent of Police in Latur, Nagpur, and Jalgaon, as well as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Mumbai. Notably, he led investigations during the 1992-1993 Bombay riots and was instrumental in the 1993 operation that seized approximately 1,500 kg of RDX in Mumbra. In 1994, he was deputed to the Central Bureau of Investigation, where he supervised probes into the Harshad Mehta securities scam.
Patnaik’s leadership as the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, spanned from February 2011 to August 2012. His service was recognized with the Indian Police Medal for meritorious service in 1994 and the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service in 2003.
After retiring on September 30, 2015, Patnaik transitioned to public service and politics. He joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in 2018 and contested the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections. Although he was not elected, he was appointed as the Convenor of BJD’s social service wing, ‘Odisha Mo Parivar,’ in October 2019. Additionally, Patnaik co-founded the Konark Cancer Foundation, which supports cancer patients undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital.
Avnish Sharma

Avnish Sharma is a Partner in the Real Estate practice group of Khaitan & Co, one of the leading law firms in India. Avnish specialises in real estate and has advised some of the major Indian and International companies, along with advising the Government of India on critical policy issues.
Avnish has worked with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, in drafting of subordinate legislation under the Real Estate, (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016 and in drafting of Model Contract for PPP in Housing Sector.
He has extensive experience in matters pertaining to foreign investment in real estate, onshore & offshore structuring, development and collaboration transactions, local law advisory, SEZ investments, private equity investments and transaction management.
CA Niraj Jindal
Independent Director
With a rich background spanning more than two decades in the financial and banking services sector, CA Niraj Jindal has honed his expertise in serving Mid-size Corporate businesses in East India. Having held key roles as the Regional Head at esteemed Foreign Banks such as SCB and HSBC, he has also made significant contributions to major Private sector Indian Banks including ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, and ING Vysya Bank.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jindal has primarily operated in leadership capacities, playing a pivotal role in driving business development and acquisition strategies, steering revenue growth, and overseeing portfolio management initiatives. His influential leadership style and strategic acumen have been instrumental in shaping successful outcomes across various facets of the banking industry.
